Spring Break 2018 — Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

College Spring Break is something you can only enjoy once, if you go again, it's not as enjoyable. My friends and I decided to book tickets to Mexico, your basic Spring Break thing to do. At the time, I didn’t know a lot about Mexico or how things really worked around there. I depicted the place to be dangerous from previous years of watching a lot of drug cartel shows and movies. Well, I was partially right, it is definitely dangerous if you wander off in the wrong places. At the time, there was two top party places you would go to in Mexico, Cancun or Cabo. Based on the trend that year, Cabo San Lucas was the place to be.

Cabo San Lucas International Airport

Getting off the airport, you end up outside with a bunch of cab drivers asking you if you need a ride to the city. In Mexico, everything here can be bargained. My friends and I bargained for a good price. The drive was surprisingly long. I realized the airport is in the middle of nowhere. While on our way to the city, we noticed the slums, which were miles of dirty shacks with labor workers drenched in the sun. It’s crazy, to know we’re going to a resort and on our way, there's all this poverty. Getting close to the city, we notice someone driving drunk on the road. Our cab was right behind this truck that kept swerving from his lane to the opposite lane. We noticed the driver was drunk when he tried to take a ramp off the freeway, but got stuck at the freeway divider. The truck driver looked very intoxicated. My friends and I were thinking to ourselves; we didn't even make it to the city yet, and things are already getting crazy.

Me Cabo — lobby and room, balcony view

We got to our hotel, and the view is just beautiful. From the lobby, you can see everything outside. There aren’t resorts like this in the States. Here, everything is crafted to be aesthetic and pleasing.

Cabo City

The next morning, I went outside to get some air and breakfast. The city was lively with a traffic and people everywhere; tourists from around Mexico and the States. There's a lot of places to eat and I kept walking to find a good outdoor spot.

Breakfast and the after walk
Homemade Tequila

This place was interesting. I walked in, curious to know what’s inside. The owner welcomed us and told us the history of Tequila Making and offered some samples. Yes, it tasted quite good, but all the bottles were quite expensive.

Time to hit the pool! The best part of Me Cabo, is the pool and the service you get there. Everyone is really nice and there's a perfect entrance to the beach. No need to walk too far.

Boat Tour to La Isla

If you’re in Cabo, you need to go to La Isla. It is just beautiful and the water is warm. My friends and I took one of these boats to get to the island and explore for a bit. Sadly, didn’t get to see the Lover’s Cove or the marine life.

La Isla

I don’t have any pictures of the party life in Cabo San Lucas, but it is pretty wild. If you’re here for Spring Break, definitely check out the nightlife. It is exciting and the night doesn’t stop until sunrise. I recommend to be careful and only bring enough cash that you’re willing to lose and an ID (not your passport). Leave all your expensive belongings at the hotel. Trust me, if you stay out long enough, you might even lose your clothing.
